PROJECT
I did the album design for The Spot by the band Perren, the first release from Callback Projects. The recording space used movers blankets as DIY acoustic treatment, and the band initially wanted the album cover to be a photo of handwritten text taped to a movers blanket. I made digital mockup to pitch my idea for a screen-printed collage on a movers blanket.
Starting with a collection of photographs from the recording space in Woodstock, NY, I created a seamless collage using the best elements from the photos and converted it all to halftone dots for screenprinting. I formatted the track listing with font by Fatih Hardal. From there, I brought a movers blanket to Funhouse in Brooklyn and helped align the screen. I later tapped a film photographer I met in my neighborhood to photograph the final blanket print with his medium format camera in daylight by Greenwood Cemetery. While he developed the photos I finalized the design for the record jacket with all the images, legal copy, credits, and lyrics.
